Cedar Springs OHV Trail

Wednesday, December 11, 2024

Other Names

Cedar Springs OHV, Sumter National Forest, Sumpter National Forest, Long Cane Creek, Long Cane Ranger District, Piedmont OHV Trails, Big Curtrail Creek

Last Known StatusVariable Schedule  (Depends on daily conditions. Call (803) 561-4025 x 2 for recorded message.)

This part of the Sumter National Forest has about 12 miles of moderately challenging ATV trail loops that wind through some hilly terrain and a mixed hardwood and pine tree forest. The main staging area provides access to the northern loop but a connector trail is used to access the southern loop. Both loops are marked for one way traffic except for the connector trail which allows for two way traffic.

The trails mainly consists of smooth packed clay and dirt but there is a section that has some large rocks. The main staging area has gravel parking, a self pay and informational kiosk, picnic tables and garbage cans. This area is prone to temporary closures before and after inclement weather, so check the hotline before heading out.

The trails and staging area are only open during daylight hours but camping facilities can be found at Fell Camp and Parson's Mountain. Trail riding is discouraged from October through December due to hunting season.
