Tuesday, June 25, 2024

Other Names

Hiawatha National Forest, Rapid River Ranger District, Flowing Well Campground, Sturgeon River, Delta County

Last Known StatusOpen

This trail system opened to the general public on June 27, 2009 thanks to the hard work of the UP Sandstormers Club and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Open to motorcycles only, this loop is 26 miles long and is geared toward the experienced rider.

The area has two staging areas but no services so come prepared. Nearby Flowing Well Campground has drinking water that comes from a hand pump well (water has a heavy iron and sulfur taste but is safe to drink).

This trail system is open year-round but Flowing Well Campground closes for the season in the late fall but re-opens Memorial Day weekend.
