This popular destination offers numerous miles of rugged 4x4 trails that wind through a cool mixed pine tree forest with panoramic views of the Bradshaw Mountains. There are several access points but the preferred place to stage for large trailers is near Lake Pleasant. Nearby Horsethief Lake has a cabin for rent and a few primitive campgrounds to choose from.

A grocery store, restaurants and lodging with direct trail access can be found in the Town of Crown King.

ATV rentals and guided tours are available and reservations can be made by contacting Happy Trails Powersports Rentals of Arizona.

1) Take I-17 North to Exit 248
2) Turn left (north-west) onto Bumble Bee Road, continue about 28 miles toward Crown King.

For the Lake Pleasant Staging Area:
1) Take I-17 North to Exit 223 (Carefree Hwy Exit)
2) Turn left (west) off the exit ramp, continue 11.5 miles
3) Turn right (north) onto N. Castle Hot Springs Road, continue about 8 miles
4) Turn right (east) onto Cow Creek Road, continue about .5 miles
5) Staging area is on the right.
