2025 Prescott's Ultimate Offroad

Hosted By UTV Offroad Adventures

Story and Photos by Kim Krause (March 2025)

Prescott, Arizona, a historic gem nestled in the Bradshaw Mountains, played host to an adrenaline-packed weekend of off-road adventure and firepower from March 21-23. With its deep-rooted history as the first territorial capital of Arizona, Prescott is known for its Wild West charm, stunning pine-covered mountains, and an extensive trail system that winds through breathtaking landscapes. Riders experienced everything from rolling green hills to rugged washes, water crossings, and snow-dusted trails, making this event truly unforgettable.

Friday Night Check-In at Outskirts Saloon

Participants gathered at Outskirts Saloon in Prescott on Friday evening to check in, collect their event swag, and mingle with fellow off-road enthusiasts. Excitement filled the air as riders prepared for a weekend of thrilling terrain and unforgettable experiences.

Saturday: Into the Wild (75 Miles)

The day started with a hearty breakfast at Frank’s Restaurant before heading to the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds for staging and the drivers’ meeting. With 21 SXS in the lineup, the group rolled through town before hitting the dirt at the end of the Ponderosa Pines neighborhood. The ride delivered a mix of terrain, featuring water crossings, tight switchbacks, sandy washes, and scenic spots along the way, including People’s Valley, Wilhoit, Skull Valley, and the historic Jersey Lilly Mine. Patches of snow added a wintery contrast to the desert cactus and towering pine trees. Riders maneuvered through winding trails, past old windmills, and finally stopped for lunch in the perfect spot—a serene clearing in the trees with a towering rock wall and overhang offering shade. After lunch the group enjoyed a quick stop at the Skull Valley General Store, which offered ice cream and many other tasty treats.

The evening concluded with a delicious Mexican-style dinner at Frank’s Restaurant, followed by the raffle and sponsor recognition. The farthest traveler came all the way from Florida, and the oldest rider, an impressive 75 years old, tackled the trails like a pro. The funniest moment of the night? One participant mistakenly placed all their raffle ticket halves in the barrel—securing their spot as the well-deserved recipient of the event’s Dumb Ass Award!

Sunday: More Trails & Action Range (60 Miles)

Sunday morning kicked off with an enjoyable breakfast at Theodore’s before heading back to the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds for staging. The ride explored new terrain with jaw-dropping views of the Hualapai Mountains, old historic buildings, and trails still dusted with snow. Water crossings, rocky paths, and sandy washes kept riders on their toes as they made their way toward Wilhoit. A mid-morning pit stop at the Burro Saloon in Wilhoit was a welcome break—owners graciously opened their doors early to accommodate the group. From there, the adventure continued to a one-of-a-kind experience at the Prescott Action Range, where Four Peaks Tactical supplied all the equipment for participants to test their skills, adding an exciting and unique element to the ride.

Before wrapping up the weekend, riders passed through a scenic tunnel, a perfect spot for capturing the last photos of this epic adventure. The ride concluded under the towering pines, marking the end of another incredible UTV Offroad Adventures event. With its perfect mix of off-road thrills, scenic beauty, and Wild West nostalgia, the event was an absolute success.
