2020 Trans-Sierra Dual Sport Ride

From Topaz To Strawberry And Back!

A dual sport ride is scheduled for September 18-20. Ride begins at Topaz Inn near the CA/NV border. Multiple all day loops and short loops are available. Event is geared for all riding levels.

There is no rider limit and walk-up entries welcome!

Highlights include:

• Two mights at Strawberry Lodge Bar, Restaurant and Motel
• One dinner and two breakfasts included at Strawberry Lodge
• One day loop with miles of optional single track on Saturday
• Small overnight gag transported to Strawberry Lodge and back
• No Gear Bags

Sign in begins Thursday night from 8-11pm at Topaz Lodge and Friday morning from 7am-8am (leave trucks at Topaz Lodge).

Each entry at sign-in includes gets a t-shirt!

Riders will be able to download GPS tracks at sign-in. Bring a GPS, no roll charts!

This ride uses Topaz 600 Routes to Strawberry Lodge and back on Friday and Sunday. Friday begins over Sonora Pass to Connell (125 miles) for gas and lunch, then 40 miles to Bear River Reservation for gas, then 40 miles to Strawberry Lodge on Hwy 50 (210 miles total).

Saturday is a 135 mile loop from Strawberry on Hwy 50 to Cooks Station on Hwy 88 and back through Elkins Flat/ PiPi OHV area with options for single track riding. Sunday will have three options:

1. Very short/fast - 70 miles on Hwy 88 over Carson Pass back to Topaz
2. Medium - 100/130 miles back past Bear River Reservation, up to Squaw Ridge down to Hwy 88, gas at Kirkwood, back to Topaz
3. Long - 140 miles back to Bear River Reservation for gas, then 100 miles back to Topaz via Bear Vly Ski area and Ebbetts Pass Hwy 4. All three have 25 miles single track option in hills between Markleeville and Topaz
