What an action-packed weekend with perfect weather! Amazing scenery on 14 different guided trail rides through the White Mountains. What could be more refreshing than enjoying the great outdoors?
Greeting UTV/ATV drivers to the 2019 White Mountain UTV Jamboree was exhilarating. Catching up with old friends and meeting new ones always ensures a great time. This year's jamboree blew it out of the ballpark with close to 300 entries. We had a new streamlined check-in process, new rides and exciting nighttime activities including two awesome Night Rides. Everyone came together for food, games, camping and most importantly - raffle prizes. Nearly 40 teams participated in the Cornhole Tournament with top three prizes donated by PCI Radios. The last-minute live auction was mind blowing when the bids for a fire extinguisher mount went for 20 times the amount over $2000. Why? Because it was not about the item, but about the money being raised for the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
We heard amazing stories from the riders and passengers after their trail rides. These rides ranged from 30 to 110 miles and provided the most breathtaking views. Lots of laughs and some great food for lunch since a few of the rides included stopping for lunch and a beverage at restaurants along the trail. This year included a poker run with stops in town to meet and visit retailers. Many retailers thanked us for including them on the poker run and they enjoyed meeting everyone with part of the proceeds donated to the local charity Round Valley Animal Rescue.
The response to the jamboree was overwhelming and we are so excited that we have already started on next year's event. Keeping things exciting and jazzed, we will launch a new poker run with stops in town and on the rides, new evening activities and of course amazing sponsors and raffle items. This event would not be possible without our sponsors and all the donated items for raffle. A heart felt thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, retailers and all that attended. Special thanks to Apache County, Town of Eagar and Town of Springerville.
