Other Names | Amago MX Park, Amago Motocross Park |
Last Known Status | Open |
This motocross park has three tracks that range from a main, beginner/vet track and a peewee. The tracks are considered to be rough and are not regularly groomed or watered. At one point this park hosted a round of the California Mini Motorcycle Club (CMMC) spring series but it appears there have been no motocross races or events held recently.
The park is open daily for practice during daylight hours but there are no amenities, so bring your own water and snacks. The staging area has plenty of room for parking but only a couple shade trees, so pack an E-Z Up or extra umbrella.
The property owner is very polite and will come over to collect the money and bring a waiver for each rider which must be signed, so please be courteous.

This is a good spot to get some seat time in if you don't mind a rough track, care for crowds or paying expensive motocross park membership fees.
Amago has a lot of natural terrain, making the tracks a lot of fun even with the lack of maintenance.
Back in 2009 this motocross park hosted a round for the California Mini Motorcycle Club (CMMC) series. As of this writing it is unknown if there are any plans to have a motocross race held here.
These tracks have a natural terrain feel and flow. If you want to brush up on your technical motocross skills this is the place to do it.
The main track is narrow, twisty and a little rugged, making it a fun track for both motocross track and trail riders.
Since the track is not regularly groomed or watered, most days you will have the entire place to yourself.
There are several large trees that provide enough shade for a compact truck or two. Some of the shady sites come with a picnic table.
The motocross track is mostly hard packed during dry weather. Best to ride this track after a light rain.
Most sections of the motocross track is surrounded by green grass and shade trees.
The track is narrow, twisty and hard packed but is still a good place to get some practice in.
Another view of one of the shady sites. If you forget drinks or snacks La Jolla Trading Post is just a couple minutes away. The store has a deli and sells bagged ice plus cold drinks.
Since the motocross track is not regularly watered, the best time to visit is after a light rain.
The motocross track is still worth checking out. If you like natural terrain or old school motocross tracks, this is the place for you.
