High above the mountains overlooking the town of Chloride await miles of 4x4 and ATV trails to explore. Some trails lead to abandoned silver mines, ancient petroglyph paintings and historic buildings. Packsaddle and Windy Point campgrounds provide direct trail access and are surrounded by juniper and pinyon pine trees.

1) Take US-93 north about 20 miles 2) Turn right (east) on Big Wash Road*, continue about 9 miles toward the Packsaddle Campground. 3) Stage here or proceed an additional 2 miles to the Windy Point Recreation Site. *Note: Big Wash Road is rugged with sharp hairpin turns and is not maintained. Large RVs are not recommended. |
